Manchester has been twinned with Wuhan, provincial capital of Hubei since 1986. CMC was there to take part in the signing ceremony.
Over the years, we have been honoured to contribute to the relationship with a number of initiatives including:

1. establishing Wuhan-Manchester Friendship Woods in both cities (the trees are now over 10 metres high!);
2. a landscape design initiative for the Hankou Riverbeach on the banks of the Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) which lead to a full feasibility study as to how this central part of the city might be developed (involving Arup and Bovis);
3. a seminar and study tour focused on urban transport and the environment held in London and Manchester involving the Wuhan Environmental Protection Bureau.
